  1. Well "remake" or "adaption" of Japanese drama, is not the right word to use for the drama :Hana Kimi, which is based on the manga Hana kimi, and the Korean version ,is based also based on the manga Hana Kimi, and not on the Japanese drama. The same goes for Dragon Zakura (The god of study) ; also Boys over flowers (Hana Yori Dango) also Playful kiss (Itazura na kissu); which have both Korean and Japanese versions (also Taiwanese); but they are not the "remake" of each other, they are just the adaption of the manga...
Anyways i have watched :Proposal daisakusen ,but not Operation proposal(the Korean version) ; I have watched :Dragon Zakura, but not The god of study. As for Hana Kimi, i have watched both the Japanese and the Korean version To the beautiful you (which honestly i didn't like)the Japanese version of this manga was way better. As for Hana yori dango, i have watched both, the Korean and Japanese version, the same with Playful kiss.

Well, haven't seen Boys over flowers (Hana Yori Dango) & Playful kiss yet.
But Dragon Zakura (The god of study) is a remake of the TV since the set design, the script, the camera work is very similar. It is well known that they bought the TV show rights.

Yes many have manga original source material! But For K-drama, that's not the reason why remake is made.
Fast production of a proven concept with a script and set design already existing.
It is clear since the J-drama and Manga are not always very similar but the K-drama remakes is almost always more similar to J-drama.

  3. It is true that Koreans tend to "remake" those Japanese dramas which were proved successful. What you said it's true, because it is easier to take an existing format, and to adopt to it, than to take the raw material from the manga and make a drama from it. And it is also true what you said about the dramas being different from the manga. I will watch God of study, soon, but first i will have to finish the dramas i am currently watching. I want to see the similarity, because i really enjoyed Dragon Zakura, so i think i will also enjoy God of study.
