This is an interesting editorial!!!

I am thinking of starting to archive editorials be bloggers but it is actually more difficult than doing the same with reviews

  1. I tried getting into this drama, but really couldn't get past 2 episodes. I'm no longer a 14 year old girl, and it bugs me when the characters are supposed to be in college and still act 12. I tend to focus on the adults and their drama if I find myself caught up in High School genre dramas. But I usually just stay away from them. I simply can't relate anymore. In fact, even in High School, I don't think I'd relate much either. Thanks for the breakdown, and glimpse into the culture. American writers and directors are doing the same thing here, they are all youngish in their late 20's-early 40's and there's a constant stream of reboots of 80's shows and movies. It's mind boggling. But that's what they grew up with so they want to recapture it, or in some cases, try to make it better. Most often it fails. Good review!

  2. “'Heart Strings'(2011) is a clunky mess
of the show although not a train wreck." That pretty much sums up your review right there! I really appreciate the angle that you are taking with your reviews. I like to read all the background information on the drama and I appreciate your take on it from a Korean perspective as well. I did watch this drama as it became available, thinking that it would be worth watching since I thought the pairing would be nice. (I've only seen a few episodes of "Your Beautiful" so far, but everyone was excited to see how Yong Hwa and Shin Hye would pair up in "Heartstrings.") I definitely agreed with your review. There was so much potential in this drama, but it became disastrous as the story continued. I find it really odd to create love stories with the professors in this drama. It just didn't feel right. The chemistry between the main leads were also a problem. Basically, the whole story was very light in all aspects in that it doesn't dig deep into any serious issues. It is not a bad choice for mere entertainment though. This is not the type of drama I want to watch again. For now, I am staying away from watching "The Musical" as I had to interest in it to begin with, but it seems that most people are saying that it's a terrible drama. Normally, I love dramas about music or focused on music, but I can't seem to find a drama that is worth my time or is really, really good. Maybe I'll try to finish "Beethoven Virus" on day as my husband really enjoyed it, but I never had a chance to finish it. Currently, I am watching "Dream High" while gritting my teeth.
